COURTOIS SATISFYING DAY
Thibaut Courtois believes victory over Hull City sets us up nicely for
our next two Premier League fixtures – back-to-back matches against Liverpool
and Arsenal.
It was
a productive weekend for Antonio side as all of the chasing pack, apart from
the Gunners, failed to win.
Diego
and Cahill were on target for the Blues as we overcame Marco Silva’s side to go
eight points clear at the top of the Premier League, and while it was by no
means our best display of the season, Courtois felt the result was all that
mattered.
Courtois
said we knew it would be hard, they’ve changed their manager and it’s harder
for other teams to beat them as well,’ said the Belgian. ‘Manchester United
found it tough against them, they won against Bournemouth and they came with a
plan so it wasn’t easy. I don’t think we played our best game but we are
pleased to get the three points.
He
further said, we wanted to win more games after the Tottenham result, and
before we play Liverpool and Arsenal. Now we have a big gap, hopefully we can
win against them and put ourselves further away.’
The
Chelsea goalkeeper was full of praise for team-mate Costa, who returned from
injury to lead the line.
